Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts

The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts showcases a variety of dramatic, comedic and musical performances. The facility, formerly known as the Scottish Rite Temple, was built in 1921 as a home for the American Passion Play. At the time of its construction, it was the largest stage west of New York, and quickly became the centerpiece of Bloomington-Normal's artistic and social life. Today, the Center offers historic tours covering the building's history and architecture.
